Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC)

The Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC) is an industry-specific council of the NSDC that aims to develop a skilled set of manpower for India's capital goods and manufacturing sectors. These are the mainstay sectors of industrial growth that underpin everything from infrastructure and engineering through automotive and heavy machinery.

CGSC works in association with multiple manufacturing firms, technical schools, and industry experts to establish National Occupational Standards (NOS) and occupation-specific training schemes. Its areas of focus are CNC operations, welding, mechanical fitting, electronic assembly, and drafting, with a stress on precision, productivity, and safety.

Through the imparting of globally competitive skills and practical knowledge, CGSC assists in enhancing the manufacturing sector, lowering skill gaps, and realizing India's vision to become a global manufacturing hub.
